Humanitarianism/Dennis
1. The Chairman of NGO council has presented a
concept paper on peace.
- Information reaching
the NGO council networks indicate a severe shortage of food and water in
affected areas in Eldoret, and Kisumu.
- Calm
has been restored in some parts of the coast region but the tension still
high in Likoni, Garsen. Malindi is
calm but lack essential goods from Nairobi
due to the lack of transport.
High level facilitation, Wachira
- Key
meetings held at the Office of the President and the Ministry of Education
yesterday
- Research
urgently needed on the violence witnessed and the situation across the
country.
- The
need to produce a common statement hich captures the feeling of all
stakeholders in this process of peace.
Professionals Integration
- The
citizens pathway to the future document was endorsed by KEPSA and the
Election Violence Response Initiative
- The
religious community supports the analysis and recommendations in the same
but for reasons of their involvement in mediation attempts will not do so
publicly.
Inter-faith forum/Bishop William
- Working towards a proposal
for training pastors in peace building initiatives and to strengthen and
build networks of evangelicals across the country
