  1. All peace-net regional coordinators are encouraging multi-stakeholder district level dialogue between the DC, church leaders and opinion leaders.
  2. Kibera based CBOs have formed an advocacy group meets for the first time today.
  3. PEACENET Baord Chairperson travels to Eldoret today to access the situation on the ground.
  4. Amani counseling centre will mobilize their available in different locations to partner with the counseling effort in the already established centers.

Women Peace Initiatives/Subow 0722710867

  1. Maendeleo ya Wanawake is working on the programme to revive community policing to assist in curbing violence.
  2. Plans underway to hold prayer meetings with faith groups in affected areas.

Concerned Youth for Peace Initiatives/Lyai

  1. Preparation for a football tournament underway, takes place in Korogocho, Saturday and between Dandora, Korogocho and Baba Ndogo, sunday
  2. Peacenet will avail pre-elections T-shirts.
  3. There is a proposal to mobilize youth nationally to dialogue and mediate for peace.

 

Mass Media initiatives, Sheila/Roselyn/Michemi

  1. Proposal on community radio is been worked on and yet be finalized.
  2. The women editors meeting resolved to launch white ribbon campaign on Monday but it will be confirm on Friday this week.

Humanitarianism/Dennis

1.      The Chairman of NGO council has presented a concept paper on peace.

  1. Information reaching the NGO council networks indicate a severe shortage of food and water in affected areas in Eldoret, and Kisumu.
  2. Calm has been restored in some parts of the coast region but the tension still high in Likoni, Garsen.  Malindi is calm but lack essential goods from Nairobi due to the lack of transport.

 

High level facilitation, Wachira

  1. Key meetings held at the Office of the President and the Ministry of Education yesterday
  2. Research urgently needed on the violence witnessed and the situation across the country.
  3. The need to produce a common statement hich captures the feeling of all stakeholders in this process of peace.

 

Professionals Integration

  1. The citizens pathway to the future document was endorsed by KEPSA and the Election Violence Response Initiative
  2. The religious community supports the analysis and recommendations in the same but for reasons of their involvement in mediation attempts will not do so publicly.

 

Inter-faith forum/Bishop William

  1. Working towards a proposal for training pastors in peace building initiatives and to strengthen and build networks of evangelicals across the country
  2. They are also working closely with the provincial administration and Red Cross
